2) Scope

This policy applies to information processed when you use the Verses app, create or manage an account, contact support, or otherwise interact with the Service.

Third-party services (for example, social sharing platforms) are governed by their own policies.

3) Information we collect

We collect information in three main ways: (A) you provide it, (B) we collect it automatically, and (C) we receive it when you authorize permissions.

Account information: name, username, email address.
Support communications: the content you send to customer support (including attachments and any information you choose to provide).
User content you choose to upload: photos, videos, text prompts, or other materials submitted for editing, filtering, effects, or generation.
Device information: device model, OS version, language, time zone, app version, identifiers necessary for functionality, and network information.
Usage data: feature interactions, in-app events, performance metrics, and aggregated analytics.
Crash and diagnostic logs: crash reports, error logs, and diagnostics.
Location (only if you allow it): approximate and/or precise location, used for location-related features and Service improvements.
Cookies and similar technologies: used for login, preferences, and measurement (may include web beacons) in web-based components.

4) Photos, face data, and biometrics

We do not perform face recognition to identify you or any person.
We do not create or store biometric identifiers or templates.
Photo/video processing is performed only to provide the requested effect or output.
By default, content is processed and stored locally on your device unless you choose server-side processing.
We do not use your photos, videos, or text prompts for training or marketing purposes.

5) AI-assisted effects and server-side processing

Some filters, effects, or generation features may use AI-assisted processing. When you choose features that require server-side processing:

Processing location: servers operated by Verses Team (our own infrastructure).
No third-party sharing: we do not share your uploaded images, videos, or text with third parties for processing, advertising, or training.
Deletion: uploaded inputs are deleted promptly after processing completion.
Your control: you decide whether to upload content and whether to generate output.

Outputs may be saved locally on your device depending on your actions (for example, exporting a video).

6) How we use information

Provide and maintain the Service.
Personalize your experience (preferences and settings).
Improve performance, reliability, and features.
Provide security and prevent abuse.
Provide customer support.
Comply with legal obligations and enforce terms.

We do not sell personal information.

We share information only as needed and on a minimum-necessary basis:

With your consent.
With service providers (processors) under confidentiality and data-processing obligations.
For legal reasons (compliance with law or legal process).
To protect rights and safety (fraud prevention, security incidents, enforcement).

8) International transfers

Your information may be processed outside your country of residence. Where required, we use safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms.

9) Security

Encryption in transit and at rest where appropriate.
Access controls and least-privilege practices.
Periodic reviews and auditing.
Backup and disaster-recovery measures.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

10) Data retention

Account data: retained for the duration of your account.
After account deletion: deleted or anonymized within 30 days unless longer retention is required by law.
Usage analytics: retained up to 12 months (aggregated or de-identified where feasible).
Support communications: retained up to 6 months.
Server-side processing inputs: deleted promptly after processing completion.

11) Your rights and choices

We aim to respond within 5 business days.

You can also manage permissions (e.g., location, photos) in your device settings.

12) Children and age limit

The Service is intended for users aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17.

13) Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date.
